I have always liked the sounds you encounter at the dentist’s. When I was 16, I was told contemporary composers use apple computers to make all sorts of interesting sounds. Because I could not afford an Apple, I builded an electronic instrument, which is played by touching a real apple (the fruit!).

Now I am working as researcher/PhD student at Leiden University and the Augmented Reality Lab in The Hague. Through the years, my interest in sound, art and technology has grown. And eventually, I own an Apple laptop. These days, I use it for writing. Besides scientific articles about interaction in interactive art I write for AR[t] – an aspiring magazine about augmented reality, art and technology.

Blogging about DEAF, I’ll spend my keystrokes on artist interviews, interactive works and weird sounds.
