Olafur Eliasson’s Notion Motion at DEAF2012!

Olafur Eliasson’s Notion Motion (2005) will be joining the DEAF2012 adventure.

The piece consists of three consecutive situations using water and lighting. The vibrations of the water reflected on the wall through a projector’s light creates a redefinition and a reconfiguration of the space.

Eliasson explores the consequences of the visitors’ movements within a defined space, highlighting that no space is neutral or stable. The visitors remain fully involved in the process and create, through their movements shuttling back and forth, the visual instability of the room.

An installation of this magnitude, incorporated in the gigantic secession architecture of the former Rotterdam post office, will undoubtedly provide unique and destabilizing sensations. Get ready to experience a whole new way of perceiving space and shapes! Entering the DEAF2012 Exhibition is not only about an exhibition; it is a journey on the borders of your apprehension.
